Youth Information Workers fit for Youth recognizes the importance of knowing how to reach and how to listen to young people in order to empower them to become active citizens involved in creating better societies for the future generations.

The Coalition of youth organization SEGA in partnership with Regional Youth Info Centre Rijeka - UMKI and European Youth Information and Counseling Agency (ERYICA) is implementing a project called Youth Information Workers fit for Youth, which started at the beginning of October 2016 and will last until the end of March 2017. The aim of the project is to enhance the quality of youth information by developing Guide for youth information workers based on the exchange of the best youth information work practices.

Partners also developed a survey for identifying the needs of youth information workers, which will give insight on how other youth information workers disseminate information relevant to youth, which tools or methods they use and what challenges they encounter in their everyday work. Also, it will gather experience and thoughts on how to improve and standardize youth information work for building a strong network of youth info centers across the Europe. A survey will be open until February 20, 2017.

In March, five-day training will be held in Macedonia where representatives of ERYICA and UMKI will share tools, methods and best practices with Macedonian youth workers

In the accordance with the time we live in, it is very important to listen to the needs of the youth and to adapt to them, to know how to reach young people and communicate with them in order to inform them of all the possibilities and opportunities that are waiting.
